Two New Books for Welsh Learners |

Sion has just Illustrated two titles in the 'Tonic' series of books for welsh learners, comissioned by the Centre for Educational Studies in Aberystwyth.'O'r Newydd' is a book of poetry on the themes of rugby and sport and socialising.'O'r Galon' is also a book of poetry with similar themes. |

"Cerddi Cyntaf' (First Poems). has just been published. The book contains 6 full colour spreads by Sion Morris.

After
many years of colouring his illustrations on the computer, Sion has
recently gone back to drawing and colouring
illustrations by hand, using indian ink and gouache paint.
Sion says 'I am enjoying the process a lot. It's fun, quicker and I'm pleased with
the results'. The new style can be seen in a set of six spreads for a new children's book called
'Cerddi Cyntaf' published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch.

A new website for Gwynedd Library Service, designed to be a central resource for a host of educational activities, was formally opened at the Caleri Centre in Caernarfon in July 2005
by Project Co-ordinator, Nia Gruffydd. A group of Year 6 schoolchildren
from Ysgol y Gelli school were invited along - and gave the site a
unanimous thumbs up!
